The day I came to Baulking Grange, unknown to me, my life was just about to change. I had given up riding 15 years ago and came to the yard with my sister, who had never ridden before. She had bought us each a a 90 minute Horse Riding Experience. Having worked with horses and owned several in my younger years, I was less than enthusiastic about going to a riding school, thinking that I would be plodding around on a horse that was dead to the leg with a hard mouth. I joined the group of other riders as we were directed into the yard and positioned myself at the back preparing to daydream whilst the instructor gave her spiel. However, as soon as she began to speak she had my attention. This was no ordinary instructor, she was passionate about the horses and their welfare, speaking about things that I didn’t know and had never heard of! The lesson that followed was equally enlightening. The horse I rode was light and responsive; I was amazed. By the time I dismounted I was hooked, and determined to learn more.

Since that day both my sister and I have found a new lease in life. My riding has been transformed and although I have a very long way to go, my understanding of the horse and how to ride it has changed dramatically. I have bought an amazing little cob named Bing from Sally and Emma, who with their help, I broke in and am bringing on to compete in dressage. This little horse is so well suited to me and I love him dearly. I nearly passed him by the first time Sally showed him to me, because I said he was too small and dismissed him. However, Sally and Emma knew he was right for me and after working with him for just one week I knew it too. My sister has also now bought a wonderful cob that is perfect and really looks after her. Sally, Emma and the girls at the yard are always on hand if we need any help or advice and are dedicated to helping us progress. We cannot thank Sally and Emma enough for their part in helping us find such brilliant little horses and bringing about such a big change in our lives, we couldn’t be happier! All the best, |
